Green eyes swept the barn in front of her as the 16 year old looked in the great double doors at the side of the barn. A few horses shuffled in their stalls when she walked in, but that was all. She soft munching of hay seemed to fill the quietness.
Katie looked to her right and saw a large dressage ring. She then looked to her right and saw a jumping ring. She smiled when she saw the different types and hights of jumps set up in the smooth sawdust floor. She had taken many jumping lessons and was excited to be able to take some more again.
The brown-haired girl looked back to her truck sitting in the parking lot. She looked at the old worn-out trailor that her parents had bought for her a few months before. Inside was a beautiful gray arabian named Sammy. She smiled at the horse, then turned her attention back to the barn.
Hello? Anyone here? she called out, waiting for someone to answer.

"Down here!" Danni called from inside Fox's stall. SHe'd been giving the mare a good brushing, she'd needed it. Danni'd also been thinking about some one, but she wasn't about to say who outloud. All she could say was that he was a really, really cool guy and she liked him a lot, was that so bad.
Blond hair got into her eye and she brushed it back with the back of her hand. She leaned out of the stall to see the new comer. The more the merrier, and perhaps more people like her. Danni all of a sudden became very self conscious and drew back a little into Fox's stall. Instinct won sometimes, but then the mind took back over and the moods were reversed and all that good stuff.

Katie looked down to where the voice had come from. She saw a blond girl standing half in a stall, and half in the barn. She smiled softly and walked over to her. She was always shy around new people, and didn't always know what to say. Once she got to know them though, you could hardly stop her from talking. She loved to make jokes and play around, but when she first met someone she was always quiet.
Hello, I am Katie Martin, she said, offering the girl her hand. She pulled a loose strand of brown hair behind her ear as her green eyes looked at the girl in front of her. Katie wondered how many other people were here at the barn. She then looked at the horse behind the girl. It was a beautiful hanoverian. She then figured that if the girl liked horses, than they would probably be friends.
