Music blasted from one of the dorm rooms. It wasn't rap, rock, country or even the jazz that would normally be coming from Room 207. It was Christmas music. Yep, the melodies that one hears from childhood or for that matter, any store during the month of December. To some it was annoying noise that should be played as little as often; to others, cheery music that could put you in the Christmas spirit at once. Sadie was one of those people. She loved Christmas and it made sense. Her cheery personality matched up perfectly with the joyfullness of the holiday. She loved everything about it, from rudolf to mistletoe. This is why she felt so out of place in Australia this year. Growing up in upstate New York, Christmas was filled with making snow men and drinking hot chocolate. This year it was made up of tank tops and kangaroos.
"Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" echoed through the room as Sadie put up the wreath outside of her door. She hadn't seen any Christmas decorations up anywhere else, so promised herself that her dorm room would be Christmas from wall to wall. Sadie bounced around her room, whisleing along with her cd and testing the twinkle lights that she had just hung up around the corners of the ceiling. She desperatly missed all her family and it would be hard to have Christmas without them, but even that couldn't dampen her Christmas spirit. Hanging up some mistletoe on the frame of her door, she remembered her first kiss. Suprisingly, it was under the mistletoe and that was probably one thing that made Christmas so special to her. Whatever it was, during the next few weeks, she was sure to annoy some people with her insistance that Christmas is truly the best time of the year.
